Ghent University, Belgium: Residency position in Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation (Small Animal Track)

The Department of Medical Imaging of Companion Animals and Orthopedics of Small Animals, Ghent University, Belgium offers a 3-year ECVSMR standard residency position, starting on October 1, 2019.

Team and facilities: the department consists of 1 EBVS specialist in Small Animal Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation and 2 technicians. On-site facilities include equipment for therapeutic exercises (cavaletti rail, wobble board,…), therapeutic modalities (Class 4 LASER, therapeutic ultrasound, TENS/NMES,…) and an underwater treadmill.

Duties: the resident will be trained and work under the supervision of a EBVS specialist in Veterinary Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation. The resident participates in everyday clinical activity and is expected to supervise and teach undergraduate veterinary students.

Qualifications: the applicant must be holder of a veterinary degree valid in the European Union and have completed a one-year rotating internship or an equivalent practical experience. Fluent English is mandatory. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
