ACVSMR Residency

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time equine sport medicine and rehabilitation resident to join our purpose-built hospital in the UK. The pathway is a traditional residency with the American College of Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR).

Pool House Equine Hospital is a leading 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital committed to providing exceptional veterinary care to its clients. The hospital is located in Lichfield to the Northeast of Birmingham. With easy access to the motorway network, two main line railway stations and Birmingham International Airport. The hospital has purposely built facilities composed of four operating theatres.

The successful applicant will be joining the hospital team based at Crown Inn Farm in our state of art equine clinic. You will be supervised by a team of a ACVSMR specialist and a ECVSMR specialist, three ECVS specialists, three ECEIM specialists, a ECVDI specialist and a EVCD specialist. The clinic is equipped with state of art facilities consisting of two operating theatres for surgeries under general anaesthesia, two theatres for procedures to be performed under standing sedation. The clinic is equipped with digital radiography, MRI, ultrasonography and endoscopy equipment.

The applicants must have completed a rotating internship or equivalent experience, be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) or have a veterinary degree that allows registration with the RCVS without statutory examination and be eligible to live and work in United Kingdom.

The position is a full time four years fixed term contract subject to annual review and will satisfy the ACVSMR Traditional Residency requirements including out-of-hour commitment based in the hospital. Residency starting date 1st July 2024.
